In the past I have received invoice payments into my home-loan account. Quickbooks won't let me match these transactions. How should I set up this account for it to work?

Let me clear things up for you.

If you've recorded this transaction in QuickBooks Online, you no longer need to match your downloaded bank transaction to it. As long as it's assigned with the correct bank account, then your bank balance will be correct.
