Question

Invoice description edit change does not show

Invoice description won't update on printed invoice after re-edit.
I create a new invoice that contains one of my defined products, and save it. I then go back in to edit that invoice and add a few more words to the Description field for that product - these changes are clearly saved and visible on screen, but when I Print Preview the invoice, only the original description is shown.

I am sure I was able to do this before without problem.
The original description is the default description text from my Product List. I need to be add some additional text at the time of invoicing. I cand do it and see it on the screen, but it won't update the print version of the invoice.

The only way I can work around this is to delete the invoice and create a new one.

Hi rgrf42,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

Any changes made on an invoice will automatically be updated once saved. If the updated description is not reflected on the invoice, let's try signing in to your account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use other supported and up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

In any case the issue still persist, please contact our support team via phone or chat to further investigate. Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, click the ? Help icon at the top right.
  2. Select Contact Us at the bottom to connect with our live support.

Feel free to post again if you have any other questions. Have a nice day!
