Question

Sending invoices is suddenly not working. Is anyone else having this problem?

When I raise an invoice and attempt to send it, I am receiving an error message saying that the delivery has failed, that the recipient's email address can't be reached.

Welcome to QuickBooks Community and thank you for choosing QuickBooks Online as your accounting program. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to ensure that your orders or invoices are being delivered to a particular customer.

 

There are times customers didn't receive your invoices, sales receipts, estimates, statements, or reports via email due to some reasons. To start fixing this issue, you'll have to reset your email address if you newly imported data into a QuickBooks Online company.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon ⚙.
  2. Under Your Company, choose Account and settings.
  3. Go to the Company tab and select the edit icon in the Contact info section.
  4. Review each email address and make changes as necessary.
  5. Click Save and Done.

 

If the issue persists, the alternative ways are listed below.

 

  • Save invoices as a PDF and send them via email through your business or other email address.
  • Send a customer the link to their invoice through SMS or messenger service. Simply click Save and share the link, then select Copy link, and paste it to your SMS.
  • Save the invoice as a PDF, print it, and send the invoice via email.
  • You can save your document as a PDF, print it, and send your customer their forms via mail. 

 

If you have a Gmail or G-suite email account, you can use the Send with Gmail feature to send QBO forms from your own address: Use your Gmail address to send invoices in QuickBooks Online.
