Hello there, corrie2.

Let me share a few details on how you can record the partial payment from your customers in QuickBooks App and what we can do to have proof after emailing their invoices.

In QuickBooks App, we can record the part payment by following these steps:

  1. Within the Dashboard, click the Hamburger icon (three horizontal lines).
  2. Select Invoices from the Shortcuts tab or All tab.
  3. Find the invoice for your customer. We can use the search bar to locate it easily.
  4. Click the Payment + icon.
  5. Enter the amount. Then, hit Save.

That's how the part payment should be recorded in QuickBooks App. For your second question, we can send the transactions to customers, including our email address. Afterward, the invoice will be sent to you as well. Let's make sure to enter your customer's email address correctly.

However, I would recommend sending invoices using a web browser. There's an option to send ourselves a carbon copy of the email. Here's the sample screenshot:

One more thing, we can turn on a feature that automatically sends you a copy when emailing customers. We can only do it using a web browser. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings under Your Company.
  3. Within the Sales tab, click the Reminders section.
  4. Tick the Email me a copy at your email address box.
  5. Hit the Save button. Then, Done.
