Why are my sales categories are not appearing in the service type when I am creating invoices?

I have set them all up in the Chart of Accounts, but they don't show in the dropdown when entering the type of sale on my invoices

Hi @DianeW001,

 

I'll walk you through how you can get your categories to appear on your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon. 
  2. Select Custom Form Styles.
  3. Hit the Edit link beside the Standard form style.
  4. Move to the Content tab.
  5. Click the middle part of the sample invoice on the right side of the page. 
  6. Under the Columns section, tick Category.
  7. Press Done.

At this point, your categories will show beside the product or service you select on your invoices.
