Question

Why can't I change my invoice template <custom forms> on the app. Makes Quickbooks useless as I have different clients I invoice differently.

Hi there, kurt9.

Thank you for posting here in QuickBooks Community. Whether you're accessing your QBO account via desktop or mobile app, you can change your invoice template.

There are times performance issues in the QuickBooks app can be caused by a full cache. That's the reason you're unable to change invoice template. To fix this, I'd suggest performing basic troubleshooting steps. If you're using the QBO desktop app, you can reset the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help menu.
  2. Click Reset App Data.
  3. Close the app when the process completed.
  4. Be sure to right-click the app and Run as Administrator when re-opening.

If you get the same result, I'd recommend uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks Online app. This is to ensure you get the most recent version of the application. You can get the detailed steps in this article: QuickBooks App for Windows and Mac: General support.

For QuickBooks Mobile app:

 Android:

  1. Go to the More Options.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Refresh Data.
  4. Then choose Yes.

iOS:

  1. Go to the Menu ☰.
  2. Select Help & Feedback.
  3. Click Refresh Data.
  4. Then select Refresh.

This should get you back up and running. Please know I’m only a post away if you need further assistance. Thanks for dropping by and take care!
