First and foremost, I want to welcome you to the Community. I'd be happy to help handle this by sharing information to help you get rid of the rate as you want to make a proposal.

When you want to give your customer a quote, bid, or proposal for work that you intend to do, create an estimate. The form resembles an invoice, but instead of charging your customer, you're informing them about your proposal and how much they should expect to pay. You can customize an estimate to show only what you want your customer to see. Here's how to make a new estimate and customize it to remove the rate:

1. Go to + New, then select Estimate.

2. Fill out the necessary information.

3. At the bottom part of the page margin, you'll see the options Print or PreviewMake recurring and Customize, and select Customize.

4. Click Edit current and go to Content.

5. Select the pencil icon on the Table to edit the labels and widths.

6. Uncheck on the Rate label, then click Done.

Lastly, this article will guide you in the future when creating partial invoices from an estimate.
