I appreciate you joining the Community. I've got you the steps to back up your QuickBooks company file.

Here's how:

1. From the File menu, click Back Up Company, then select Create Local Backup.
2. Select Local Backup, then click Options.
3. In the Tell us where to save your backup copies field, select Browse and select the location in which to save the backup copy, and hit OK.
4. In the Create Backup window, specify whether to back up automatically, and select Options to set options for automatic backups.
5. Select New to set a backup schedule in the Schedule Backups dialog, then click Finish.

On the other hand, I've got some insights to share about QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) service discontinuation policy.

If you're using the stand-alone license (3 years), you can still access your QBDT files on your computer. However, you're unable to continue receiving the security updates and online services, such as:

• QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Services
• Live Support
• Online Backup
• Online Banking

If you're using the Pro Plus (annual) version, you can no longer use or access your QBDT account. However, your company file will remain on your computer, but you'll need to re-activate the service to open or view the data.
