Question

How do I reclassify multiple transactions at once (batch reclassify)? I have searched online and cannot locate how to do this on QB Online.

The Reclassify Transactions feature is currently available in both the QuickBooks Online Advanced and QuickBooks Online for Accountants versions, Chris. Let me provide you with more details about this feature.

If you are using the Advanced version, click on the Gear icon and search for the Reclassify Transactions option.

If you are using the QuickBooks Online for Accountants version, you can find this feature under the Accountant Tools menu.

Once you see it, follow these steps on how to reclassify multiple transactions at once:

    1. Select a date in the From and To fields.
    2. Choose filters to narrow down the list of transactions that you want to reclassify.
    3. Select transactions by clicking the boxes before them.
    4. Click Reclassify.

Let me share these articles for additional details about using this feature:

If you're subscribed to Simple Start, Essentials, or Plus, you'll want to upgrade your account to Advanced to activate this feature. You can use this article as a guide: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online edition.

You can also manually open each transaction and change the accounts or categories in the Category column if you want to stay in your current plan.
