I've got the steps on how we can add cost center to your company, hareth-iris-hote.

 

In QuickBooks Online, tracking incomes and expenses for different departments is made easier using Class or Location tracking

 

To start with, you'll have to turn on these features from the Account and Settings. Let me guide you how:

 

  1. From the Gear icon, select Account and settings.
  2. Go to the Advanced tab and pick Categories section.
  3. Click the Categories section.
  4. Toggle the Track locations and Track classes button.
  5. Click Save and then Done.

These instructions did not generate a Cost Centre.

The ability to add a cost center in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is currently unavailable. However, the system includes a project feature that allows you to track or quickly calculate your costs. Income and profitability are also included.

In the meantime, I suggest you send feedback on this option. This way, they can get notified of the features that business owners need. Also, the more requests it gets, the higher they will add it to future enhancements.

 

Here's how you can submit them:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.
