You'll only need to cancel your subscription to make your account inactive or deleted. This looks like you're closing your account. For the complete steps, follow these steps:

 

  1. Sign in to QBO account as an administrator. 
  2. Go to the Gear icon and select Accounts and Settings.
  3. Select the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel or Cancel Trial.
  5. Follow the steps on the screen to cancel your subscription.

 

Still, you'll have read-only access to your account a year after the cancellation. If there's important information entered in QBO, it would be best to export or print them before canceling your account.
