Question

I accidentally entered my password in the user ID for sign-in. Now it is always there and I can not erase it. How do I get rid of it?

Hello, @yamahatci.

I'm here to help you get rid of your user ID in QuickBooks Online.

There's a possibility that the Auto Sign-in or Offer to save passwords is turned on in your browser. That's why it always there and you're unable to erase it. I'd recommend turning off the settings or clearing the cache. This way, your password will remove it in the User ID field.

For Google Chrome, here's how:

  1. Click the 3 dots on the right side, then choose Settings
  2. Select Autofill, then click Passwords
  3. Turn off the radio button or click the menu beside your saved password.

Here's how to clear cache:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
  2. Put a checkmark in the Password and other sign-in data
  3. Tap Clear data

For other browsers, please check out this article on how to clear the cache: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

I've added some pages that might help you in handling your user's login and company information.

Please notify me if you have additional questions about your user ID in your account. I'm pleased to help you further. Keep safe always.
