Question

Is it possible to maintain a read only Quickbooks account subscription? We are migrating to another system.

I'm glad you ask about this, adzimi.

The read-only access to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account is good for one year after you cancel the subscription. If you wish to keep all your data after a year, I recommend exporting or printing them before canceling or within the given one year grace period.

Reports and lists are some of the main data that you want to export. Below are the instructions on how to do it:

  1. Select the Gear icon and then Export Data.
  2. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
  3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
  4. Click Export to Excel.

The following articles contain complete instruction on how to export data from QBO:

In case you want to unsubscribe to QBO, you're always welcome to do so. Here's an article for the instructions on how to do this: How to resubscribe or reactivate QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to reach back to me if you have additional questions. I'm here to answer them for you. Have a good one.
