My accountant is unable to access my quickbooks self-employed account. Keeps giving them a “ BAD REQUEST error message.” I tried re-adding them. Why is this happening?

    The "Bad Request" error message occurs due to an issue with the web request sent to the QuickBooks server, potentially caused by incorrect login info, browser cache and cookies, or server problems, Nick. I will outline the steps needed to resolve this.

     

    There are three options available for addressing browser-related errors.

     

    To begin with, I recommend clearing browser cache and cookies. Your accountant's browser may have stored outdated or corrupted files, which could be causing the error. Have them clear their browser's cache and cookies and try to log in again.

     

    Moving forward, access a private window/incognito mode. This helps by avoiding interference from cached data:

     

    • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
    • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P.

     

    Next, try using a different browser or device. Since the error is related to the specific browser or device. Have your accountant access the account with an alternative browser or device.

     

    Lastly, re-invite your accountant. If you tried re-adding them, but it didn't work. Remove their access entirely and then re-invite them to access your QuickBooks Self-Employed account. Ensure you are entering their correct email address.
