Hello.

I have a couple of solutions that I can share to help you fix the "we are working on it" error message when switching to the second company file.

The error message may be caused by a simple browser issue, so let's close and re-open your browser to fix this. Then, log in to the second company.

Though, the "we are working on it" error message can also be caused by a certain cache-related issue. To confirm this, we can use a private or incognito window. Use these shortcut keys to access it, depending on your browser preference:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P.

After opening a private browser, log in to your account and switch back and forth between companies to check for any error messages.

When the error isn't showing up, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. This removes the cache data that's causing the issue.

Alternatively, we can use another supported browser to work on the second company.

Do you need help in managing your data in your second company file? If so, I'll share this article in case you need to know the current standing of the business: Run reports in QuickBooks Online

If you have more questions about your company file or data, let me know and I'll gladly lend a hand again.
