Question

When I try to create a PO Im getting an error message "Select an account for this transaction".

Everything is set up properly, the items is associated with an account e.g. cost of sales and a supplier, all fields are populated. I get this error, regardless of if I use the Catery or Items section

Hi there, @Triniant. I'm here to ensure you can get that purchase order entered.

 

Since you're still getting an error regardless of entering all the needed information, this might be caused by a brief browser problem. This usually happens when our web browser's cache files may be out-of-date or corrupt. Basic browsing is sped up by browser caches. It enables you to load repeating images or information faster. When your browser gathers too much previous data, though, it can affect processes.

 

In a few of simple steps, we can get rid of them. In order to rule out a browser issue, let's start by logging into your account through a private window. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

 

  • Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

If you're able to save the purchase order, I recommend that you clear your browser's cache. By clearing them, you can remove that historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with your browser.
