I'm hoping by using the desktop app I'll experience faster navigation within QBO.

It's important to note that the desktop app for QBO Advanced Canada isn't available. I can see the benefit of having this feature and I recommend sending feedback to our engineers. You can send feedback by clicking on the Gear icon > Feedback. New product ideas and improvements are largely based from users like you.
