why is my payment delayed no reason or nothing?! and I can't reach anyone to see whats going on?!

January 6, 2024

I didn't want you to have this kind of experience, savageeboni. I understand the urgency to keep track of why customer payments were delayed in your account and manage these funds in QuickBooks. Let me help resolve this matter, so you can get back in handling your business.

If this is your first time processing with a QuickBooks Payments account, the initial set of transactions you take will be delayed for up to five business days while we conduct a review on them. With this, an email notification will be sent to you with detailed instructions on what additional information is needed to complete our assessment. To learn more about this process, you can visit this article: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

We periodically review payments to help protect the security of all parties involved and mitigate fraud risk. To help you check customer payment status, you can sign in to the Merchant Service Center and check the Method column. If the status shows as "Withheld", that payment is on hold, and we're reviewing it. You'll receive regular email notifications if any updates or issues happen when processing these amounts. For more insights, feel free to visit this guide: Why are my funds on hold?

In addition to that, I've added our support hours so you can set an available time to reach them out to ensure you get on hold with our support team on time.

Moreover, I'm sharing this reference to help you review your business finances and account statements to ensure your books are accurate: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be available anytime in this thread if you have additional questions when managing customer payments. Just keep us posted so we can further provide help. Keep safe!

I am trying to get my cvs file to upload to quickbooks online. when i upload it turns all debit/credits into credits how do i fix this?

JaeAnnC
January 14, 2024

Thanks for joining this thread, Gina. Let's review the format of your CSV files to ensure your transactions will show the appropriate debit/credit when uploading them into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before that, please be aware that if you're uploading CSV files for credit card accounts, transactions may be displayed in reverse. For instance, deposits may appear as negative amounts because paying your credit card reduces your balance.

Otherwise, let's exclude your bank transactions and review the format of your CSV files to ensure the entries will upload correctly. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions and click Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the account tile for the bank account.
  3. Go to the For Review tab.
  4. Put a checkmark beside the transactions you want to exclude and click Exclude.

Once done, review the format of your CSV file. Make sure to use either a 3-column or 4-column format. The 3-column has a DateDescription, and Amount line, while the 4-column includes the DateDescriptionCredit, and Debit column. You may read this article for the complete details: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

When everything looks good, upload the file again to QBO.

Furthermore, I recommend reconciling your accounts in QBO to ensure your books are accurate and there aren't any duplicate transactions.

Stay in touch if you have additional questions about uploading your CSV files. I'll be more than glad to assist you further. Take care, and have a good one.

When I sign on QuickBooks does not come up.  Just continues to try but never succeeds.

January 15, 2024

Good morning, we have a major issue with our sales tax reports.  Liability, summary and detail.  I enter the date filter (by quarter) and it shows previous months and they are random.  It does not match our revenue for the quarter and we cannot use this for filing.  It's a mess.  I really need to talk to someone at QBO support as this is time sensitive and we need it fixed asap - or at least I need to know why QBO is messing this up.

Please direct me to where I can get the support phone number.  Thank you.

Hello, Mdmx1324. I understand the importance of matching your data in your Sales Tax Report in a timely manner. QuickBooks Online generates reports based on how you customize its filters, and I'd be glad to help you pull up the quarterly data you need.

First off, I'd like to clarify if you're trying to filter or group the report by quarter. This way, I can provide you with the most appropriate suggestions.

To filter the report by quarter, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Reports on the left panel.
  2. Choose the report that you want to open.
  3. Set the Report period to This Quarter.

On another hand, to group the report by quarter, select Quarter from the Group by menu.

Also, you can manually choose the start and end dates of the previous quarter to pull up the data you want to view.

Secondly, the Cash and Accrual method bears different data. The accounting method must have been the reason why your reports don't match. With this, I recommend switching from Cash to Accrual or vice versa to accurately pull up the data you need.

Lastly, I added this article to help you with your sales tax calculation: Correct calculation errors with Automated Sales Tax address verification in QuickBooks Online.

If you're referring to something else or have another QuickBooks-related concern, feel free to reply to this thread or leave a post. We are always here to help.

I am having difficulty entering a new business in my QuickBooks Pro.  The area that wants my email address is shaded and it wont allow me to enter any information, therefore, it won't let me set up this new business.

March 9, 2024

I'm here to help you with your business setup, @Sandra921.

When creating a company file that requires Intuit account sign-in, the Admin email address field is uneditable and displayed in a greyed-out state. Once you've completed all the necessary fields with an asterisk, you can proceed by clicking the Create Company button.

However, the Create Company button remains greyed out unless an email address is entered in the Admin's email field.

To fix this issue, we can go through the steps again and select the Sign-in Later option, which will allow you to enter the email address manually. You can refer to this article for additional reference on creating company files: Create a QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Please let us know if you have any follow-up concerns regarding setting up your new business. The Community is always eager to help you out.

migrating desktop to online

March 29, 2024

Moving data efficiently between different QuickBooks products is crucial. Allow me to provide some details on handling this matter about migrating data to QuickBooks Online (QBO), Gregg.

Some features and transactions don't transfer over when you move your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO). It's because some transaction types are presented differently in QBO.

Please take note of the following information before moving to QBO:

  • After signing up for QBO, you have 60 days to move a company file.
  • If you've previously set up payroll in QBO, move your lists instead of your company file.
  • Because of feature limitations, some of your lists and reports will not be converted.

After inputting seven months of fresh data into QBO, you'll need to manually transfer the transactions you entered in QBDT post-conversion by uploading them through an Excel spreadsheet. It involves exporting your list from QBDT and importing it into QBO.

I'm listing them down to make sure I got you covered:

  • You'll have greater migration success if you have a QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) version release or higher: 2022 R5. Ensure that your version release is up to date before migrating your data.
  • If the file exceeds the target limit (750,000), it can't be converted to QuickBooks Online. But you can condense your data to minimize your targets before migrating it. If it doesn't work, your only option is, you import lists and balances into QuickBooks Online or utilize an online migration tool.

On the other hand, you mentioned earlier that you don't see the built-in conversion tool. For QBDT Enterprise, our developers keyed the steps to migrate your data. Please follow my directions below:

  1. Sign in as an admin to the desktop company file you want to move.
  2. On your keyboard, press Ctrl 1 to open the Product Information window.
  3. Press Ctrl Q, then select OK to display the export window, then select Get Started.
  4. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  5. Choose an online company, select the company you want to replace with your company file, then select Continue.
  6. If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop:
  7. Select Yes to bring them over, then enter the as-of date.
  8. Note: Use the first day after your last tax filing period as your inventory start date.
  9. Select No if you want to set up new items later in QuickBooks Online.
  10. Enter Agree in the text field, then select Replace.
  11. Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace.

You can refer to the article about how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. You'll want to expand the transaction section.

Also, you can check about moving data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO):

Keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other migrating concerns or questions about managing your QBO data, I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, Gregg.

When I go to open my Quickbooks, which is the QB Desktop Pro I get a pop up message saying The File or directory is corrupted or unreadable. Can you help me?

March 30, 2024

Welcome to the Community space, @farmlady1.

I recognize the importance of opening your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'll be here to help you sort it out.

First off, consider updating your program to the latest release. Next, Download and install the QuickBooks Tools Hub. This will help fix common errors in QBDT. Here's how:

  1. Close the software.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Tools Hub file. Then, either save it to your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolsHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tools hub when the installation is complete.
  6. Select Program Problems in the QuickBooks Tools Hub.
  7. Choose Quick Fix my Program.

After that, run the QuickBooks File Doctor. Let me guide you through the steps.

  1. Select the Company File Issues tab from the tools hub.
  2. Choose Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
  3. Select your company file from the drop-down menu. If you don’t see your file, click Browse and search to locate your file.
  4. Click Check your file (middle option only) and then choose Continue.
  5. Enter your QuickBooks admin password.
  6. Click Next.

Additionally, I'm adding this helpful article for detailed steps in fixing your QuickBooks Desktop: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

April 10, 2024

I have a billing question.  I am not a Quickbooks user and never have been.  However, a reoccurring charge has been charged to my bank account.  I can't seem to get a person on the phone to assist me.  I use Quicken and my annual renewal has already been charged to my credit card.  The charge in question is showing up on my bank account and the reference is @Qbook Onl.  I have spoken to two and called 3 phone numbers to no avail.    I will be contacting my bank to remove the charges but need to stop the reoccurring charge.  HELP!

April 10, 2024

I acknowledge the importance of addressing this issue about the unwanted charges linked to your bank account, Ray. I'm here to ensure you can remove these.

To guarantee that the charges on your account are legitimate and are from Intuit, I suggest contacting your bank's support team. They will be able to provide you with more information and help you verify the charges. This extra step will help prevent any potential fraudulent activity on your account.

Once your bank confirms that these are from us, I recommend reaching out to our team so they can help you eliminate these transactions from your statement. To contact us, you can dial the number posted in this article: QuickBooks Online Support

Additionally, here's a helpful website you can use if you have questions when using QuickBooks Online in the future: Help Articles.

Please don't hesitate to get back to this thread if you need further help in getting in touch with our support team. I'm always here to assist you.
