Nothing more irritating then clicking something you didn't want to because you can't remove or move or hide it.

It's in the way of reminders and closing and should be hidden away like the new features was. How do I move  or preferably hide the Discovery Hub.

The Louis answer:

Close Quickbooks

Open this folder

C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2021\Components\Services\Images

Make a folder and call it DH

(I did this because it is related to Discovery Hub)

Move all pictures with the following names into that folder

Open Quickbooks

Voila

It may not stop the Discovery Hub but at least I don't have to look at it anymore

Put the files back if it breaks anything

Don't delete the files just in case

It's been 18 months since the first post and it's still happening. I will never move to QBO since it isn't as full featured so there's no point in advertising to me. I have the pop up window setting turned off and this doesn't help. Seems pretty clear that Intuit doesn't care about it's customers. I did do one of the send feedback forms but I assume no one is listening.

I can understand how frustrating and disappointing it must be for you to experience these ongoing issues with QuickBooks for such a long period of time, @actjaney

I understand how disheartening when a product or service doesn't meet your expectations, especially when there isn't response to customer feedback.

Given the situation, it's beneficial to follow up by resubmitting your feedback to our product developers. QuickBooks continually strives to enhance its offerings by finding innovative ways to cater to our customers' requirements. Additionally, the prioritization of feature updates is influenced by the level of demand from our users.

Here we are in 2024 and the fkn a$ $clowns STILL do not care what we have to say and this discovery hub BS still is here.

Try using QB in virtual on a  guest machine and accidentally hit that stupid discovery hub and you cannot find an X or any way to close it no matter how you try to change the screen layout- I have to close the whole program ... This is ridiculous !

Many people have bitched for decades about QB forcing you to sign in and not letting you opt out of that - Quickbooks reply is " it is for your security"

People reply " I am the SOLE user of my account, no employees and nobody has access to it, I do not want to have to sign in"

Quickooks " it is for your security"

People reply " I AM THE ONLY ONE USING MY FKN MACHINE "

QB....  crickets, we do not care.

Your lack of being able to drag screens across multiple displays sucks a$ $, copy and paste - why can't your engineers give us a right click dialogue box with those options to do so ACROSS  THE WHOLE PLATFORM. instead of having to use ctrl c and v. here and there

Once again Intuit shows their a$ $es  and hopefully someone reads all the years of complaints on this forum and makes a rip off clone of quickbooks . Watch how fast your accounts will dwindle to nothing

I am having the same issue and don't understand why I paid a lot of money for a software program that I own and am constantly having to close out pop up ads.  It is VERY annoying and aggravating to have to deal with this. The pop up blocker does not work, plain and simple. Quickbooks needs to do better!!

Intuit's Online Push Leaves Complex Businesses Behind

Intuit seems determined to migrate all users to online platforms. However, for businesses with complex needs, even Desktop Enterprise falls short. The online version of QuickBooks, on the other hand, appears designed for extremely simple operations.

Upgrading to a more robust accounting solution, like an ERP, can be prohibitively expensive. Even with Enterprise QuickBooks, businesses may need to spend an additional $50,000 per month on add-ons to manage their operations.

Intuit's reliance on outdated technology limits its ability to provide advanced features. While they claim to maintain desktop software, there's a constant threat of discontinuation, which could severely impact millions of businesses.

By prioritizing online solutions, Intuit risks alienating mid-sized companies that require powerful tools but aren't ready for a full-scale ERP.

I feel like those ads are just one of the many things they do with the desktop software to purposefully annoy you into switching.

Wow, After almost 2 years, I have a blank header in my Quick books. No more Discover Hub. Thank you loads.

I just had to upgrade to Enterprise 2024. Too bad it took two years to be heard but at least we see that they are listening. Now if they can just fix the format for phone numbers in the employee/vendors/customer information sections.

Would be right up there with other programs who plug in the dashes/parenthesis for phone numbers.ie:

0001112233 would be (000) 111-2233. Lol, just dreaming out loud.

Well I lied. When I closed the new update, (thank God it wasn't an additional charge) reopened it and there it still was. Stinking Discovery Hub.

Talk about breaking someones spirit. Guess it's really time for a change. This is 25 years I've been using QB. Finally fed up.

January 6, 2025

Unfortunately, it seems like QB techs are dealing with a lot of antiquated systems from the 90's and early 2000's and it's understandable that they can't fix things. There's literally no way for them to do that aside from actually making a new version of Quickbooks Desktop.

It's been almost 15 years since that has happened. What you are using now is basically the husk of what we had in the late 90's and the strain of the database can be heard all across the world.
