Quickbook Desktop 2022 Crashing and stops working

Hello QB Community; the business I work for recently upgraded from Quickbooks Desktop 2019 to 2022. Since then, we've had a few users report that whenever they open up Quickbooks, and Quickbooks crashes. This business relies on this software to keep balanced.
I've tried the Quickbooks Tool Hub features to try and fix the issue, but unfortunately the problem persists.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quickbooks several times with several QB technicians over the phone spending over 25 labor hours trying to get this work without crashing!
I've tried clearing the Google cache, and that didn't work.

I am also having issues with getting my email connected to invoices.

HELP!!!!! I have no clue how to fix this issue on my own. Has something like this happened to anybody else, or does anybody have an idea on how to fix this issue? I cannot be the only one who is experiencing this issue. When we had 2019 version, we did not experience any kind of crashing.

Add me to the list of people having this same problem.  I upgraded at the end of May and every time I log in, QB crashes.  I have to login again and then, if I'm fast enough to start a task it will stay up and running. If I don't start a task right away, it will close out.

I also upgraded at the end of May from DT 2019 to DT 2022. If I open a task in time and keep working on something, the program stays  up. However, if I tab out, the program crashes. Very frustrating! I will try some of the steps outlined in this post, which I hope work, because this is very disruptive to my workday.

My quickbooks 2022 keeps crashing when I open it...

June 14, 2022

We went from 2019 to 2022 a few months ago with no problems at all.

However, after the latest update from QuckBooks a few weeks ago, the system just shuts down. So it has to be with the latest update that they sent out for the 2022 version.

We currently use 2022 QuickBooks Premier.

Let's get this sorted out so you can get back to working order, TSGi.

To get this resolved, let's run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will run a quick repair on your program. Here's how:

  1. Download and install the latest QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Once done, open the file and select Program Problems.
  3. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  4. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

You can read this article for more troubleshooting steps to help fix this issue: Solutions for when QuickBooks has stopped working.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend you contact our Customer Care team. They can help check to identify what's causing this to happen and help you fix this issue. They can also submit a request to investigate why QuickBooks is crashing.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect. Phone support may be limited due to volume.

Looks like this is a software glitch, too many of us having the program crash. I have reinstalled, there are no critical fixes not downloaded and installed and updates are up to date. Intuit needs to get this fixed rather than having us jump thru hoops that don't take care of the issue and just waste more of our time. Your support can't help either and it's a minimum 3 hour call, if you don't get bounced from one dept to another. Chat is not any better.

If you are using Norton Anti-Virus software and have turned on "Secure VPN", this will cause Quickbooks to crash.  The fix is to turn off "Secure VPN" and the same feature in any other anti-virus software must be turned off to avoid the crash.  To define crash, the software shuts down repeatedly.

This fix is applicable for all 2019-2022 versions of Quickbooks.

Was forced to upgrade from Desktop 2019 to Desktop 2022. It crashes pretty much every time we open it. It just started taking down my Chrome when I open it now. Sometimes it will crash if you are in the middle of writing a check or just opening a section of Qb's. Quite frustrating.

I'm having the same problem with QB 2022

June 15, 2022

Adding myself to the growing thread.  We have 3 clients now, all with the random QuickBooks shutdowns, since installing the R5 update.

Now I guess we wait to see how soon a new update comes out to fix this.

Some of the errors refer back to the new internal browser that was added.  C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 2022\CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe

Happens on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

I am having the same issue.  Just upgraded from 2019 to 2022 and the program either crashes right away or aborts after a short time.  I've also tried all the fixes mentioned.  I have the program and company files on my PC's hard drive - no network or sharing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  I never had an issue with 2019 - this is so frustrating!

Have you tried to create "Everyone" with "Full Control" permission setting on the Security tab of your C drive?

You are not alone.  I work in an accounting firm and we have wasted so many hours on this issue.  When is QuickBooks going to fix this issue?  I have other issues with an on line account - have contacted support, and after 2 contacts and about 6 man hours, the issue is still not fixed.  Different issue, but speaks to the many issues with no resolution from QBs. Right now attempting to work in a QB desktop 2022 file.  Seems suspicious that QB cut off payroll updates for prior versions and now this is crashing all the time.  They forced us to update and this product is inferior. .

Same issue here. Crashes our chrome, windows explorer, excel, and everything else we have open. Tried all the suggestions mentioned by staff and nothing. Even did fresh installs of QuickBooks. Thought old computer might be the cause but we upgraded to brand new i5 12th gen with 32 GB of ram each and still having crashing issues. Very frustrating for our workers.
