Thank you for posting here in the Community, @t-mcdowell.

Let me share some information about our payment processing services for QuickBooks Online.

There are specific requirements that you need to avoid getting denied from your submitted applications. Here's the list of some reasons why you're unable to activate the online payment feature:

  • Type of products or services you sell
  • Industries that are categorized as high-risk merchants ( Example: Firearm sellers, vape and e-cigarette merchants, alcohol, and cigars)
  • Credit History

I recommend contacting our Payment Support Team for further information about the application. You can click the link above and obtain the number under QuickBooks Online with Payments & Merchant Service Center.

Meanwhile, I've attached some articles you can use as a reference about the terms and agreement, as well as the list of unacceptable business types:

Please know that I'm just a post away if you have any other questions. Have a great day ahead.

I was recently denied ability to accept payments when I initially created my account due to my credit. However I recently, cleared and updated my credit but I still can’t access my merchant account via “QuickBooks go payment” app for the iPhone. How can I get approved since my credit has been updated?

Hello- I was denied a merchant account because what I sold didn't was against the acceptable use policy?  I sell herbal supplement which I understand is high risk- but there are several other venders selling the same exact supplement that are using Inuit for payment processing?  How do I appeal that decision?  Doesn't seem fair you'd single me out?

Can I please get a call [removed]

May 2, 2022

First things first, we should note that in QuickBooks Online, once the customer pays a sales receipt, they recognize it as Paid. If your member's credit card gets declined/denied after, you should see a reminder on the Homepage: Take Action - Fix declined credit card payments.

I would like to also know why I am being denied for accepting payments. I do not run a high risk company. My credit history is not the greatest but that should not be a factor. I am wanting to accept the money that I worked for, not borrow it. This is crazy. Can someone please explain this to me

I was denied my application for QuickBooks Payments with no explanation. I run a bookkeeping business that operates exclusively with QuickBooks, so I can't imagine that would be considered high risk.  I also have excellent credit.  Can someone please explain the reason for my denial?

@lacasasaddlery

You can use a 3rd party merchant service to integrate with QBO.

Making sure you'll be able to process online payments in QuickBooks is my priority, @lacasasaddlery. Having issues when applying to this can delay your working progress. That's why, I'm here to provide information about this.

In QuickBooks, there are several reasons why you're denied for taking online payments. One of those is the following:

  • Type of products or services you sell.
  • Industries that are categorized as high-risk merchants.
  • Credit History of the QuickBooks Payments primary account owner.

That being said, I recommend reaching out to the Merchant Support Team to further check what's the exact cause why your application was declined. Here's how:

  1. If you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO), simply click the Help icon.
  2. Then, go to the Search tab.
  3. From there, select Contact Us.
  4. Next, enter a brief description of your concern. Example: QB Payments Application Status.
  5. Then, choose either Start a chat or Get a callback.

If you're using other products, please visit this article for the steps on how to contact the support as well as their operating hours: Contact QuickBooks products and services Support.

For your reference about this, I suggest checking these links:

On the other hand, you'll want to consider the suggestion of Fiat to use a third-party merchant service application.

When everything is fine, I've attached this awesome resource for guidance in taking and processing online payments: Take and process payments with QuickBooks Payments.

I'd like to know updates on how the interaction with the support goes. If you have additional questions about processing online payments, feel free to add a reply below. I'm always ready to lend a hand. Have a good one and keep safe.

@Tl27

Are you running a B2B or B2C company? Consider to use a 3rd party merchant service or payment processor.
