Hi colleagues,I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to ask how you're checking the self-assessment submission statuses for your clients. Are you manually ticking every single name in the Agent's account to check the status, or is there a more efficient method to view all statuses in one place? With hundreds of names, it's quite time-consuming.
My business has developed and grown over time and I've got a new logo and business name to support it. Please can you tell me how I change my logo, business name and email address to show up on my invoices? I go to edit my invoice template but when I change the logo, business name and email address it won't let me save my changes.
We have been running QB online version uk since 2018. Every invoice we send out to customers has up to 5 attachments. Every supplier invoice has a copy of the actual invoice attached. We have just started trading as a Ltd company so have had to get another QB.How do we extract all the data from our original QB's, for reference and for complying with HMRC keeping your documents for 7 years?. We don't need to keep the original QB open once every one has paid. They are being treated as 2 separate companies.Any advice?
HiWe have 1500 subscribers. I manage them via Excel sheets (!) I now want to create a subscription system on my (bespoke) website then integrate payments with QB So users get alerted when subsription is up for renewal. I imagine the system automatically requests QB to generate an invoice and provides the user a link which they then pay. Once payment is received QB needs to notify the website that payment has been made. The website then extends their subscription. I can do all the subscription development. Is the rest achievable via the QB API? Can we also set up new customers in our website and have the same created in QB, so they are linked. Has anyone else done something similar? ThanksRob
Hi I’m currently renting a studio from a third party which is an ongoing business expense. Me and my business partner are setting up a studio together which is a limited company would I still need to pay rent to my company or would I just stop paying rent and keep the rent of this new studio as an expense on this company?

How do you manage inventory quantities when importing from ebay?I have multiple variations of various items and if I add stock to each of them my value would be ridiculous?TIA
Trying to run a report that will tell me which customers have bought a product/service so that I can then email them with specific offers relating to those that they have already bought. I have run a similar report before that gave me all of the customers contact info, but I now can't find or work out how I did that! Any help/tips would be great. Thanks, Russell
Hi all, Newbie here, please forgive my ignorance.I just opened my company, hired myself as Director on a NMW and got VAT registered. I'm now getting my salary plus dividends from the company as I'm told dividends are taxed less than a salary. So at the moment i have £950ppm (director salary) + £2000ppm (dividends), resulting in £2950ppm as total income. But what if I use the company money for personal purchases instead of giving myself dividends? Would this be more tax efficient? Assuming this is doable, is there anything I'm not allowed to purchase through the company? Do purchase need to be justified?Thank you all,Vincenzo

Does anyone have any recommendations for apps they have used to automate purchase invoice approvals? We don't use PO's but we want to automate the process for getting invoices approved, coded and on the system. We currently use a very manual process of emailing each invoice to the approver, sometimes this will be multiple approvers. We then save the invoice and the approval as separate PDF documents that are attached to relevant QB record. I can see 'Approvalmax' and 'Ezzybills' are available apps in the UK, but wondered if anyone has experience of these or can recommend something they use? Thanks

I have a client wishing to transfer from Sage Accounting Plus to Quickbooks. Looking at the help topics it looks extremely complicated to carry out. Has anyone done this themselves and did it work?

I’m one of the proud leaders of this amazing gathering place for entrepreneurs. But before this, a few years back, I was deep in the trenches of self-employment, just like you. In 2005, after hearing my pregnant friends complain about their impossible-to-swallow prenatal vitamins, I co-founded NutraBella, Inc. My business partner and I were determined to give women more palatable vitamin options, so we created the Bellybar. I quickly realised that although I’d gone to business school and earned my MBA, I had a whole lot to learn about building, running and growing a business. My hard-earned degree had only partially prepared me for the complicated, non-stop, often overwhelming challenge of working for myself. Back then, I longed for an “instruction manual,” a curated list of things I needed to know right away to succeed as a small business owner. Of course, there’s no single, right way to run a business, so no such manual exists. (If it did, everyone would be work
Hi there, I want to keep customer records in QB which include what products they have bought. I am selling through Woo Commerce and direct through PayPal and Stripe on other systems. To do this I am going to need to connect both PayPal and Stripe feeds. If I also use a Woo commerce connector, will I get duplicate entries? I am wondering the best way of organising this? Many thanks,Jenni
I have used QB online in the past for inventory management (wholesale company). However, I now run my own business as a property developer. Any help with how I found log purchase/sale of properties from an auction, also how to log expenses against it etc.
Accounting software(quick book) is not part of many universities course unit also Entrepreneur lack knowledge and skills in business management and tax issues. according to my research, lack of skill in accounting soft ware result gap between job market requirement and graduate supply.
I am part of a small charity, Quickbooks was provided to us by a trustee who was an accountant for a large charity accountants. She left the board and the company. Since August 19, over many many calls, I have managed to get Master Admin control, but I cannot do everything I should be able to, it's just not working.I cannot talk to a competent techie or supervisor, I have to go through call handlers, wasting mine and their time, they just do not have the skills or authority to get the job done. My case has been closed yet again without full resolution. I tried to escalate the issue two weeks ago, today I have been asked if I wish to escalate again, IT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED TWO WEEKS AGO.I have not received competent support for 6 months, poor call handlers do their best but obviously are not effectively supervised or supported. Dont get QB if you expect prompt and competent service.
When it comes to getting customers to stick around, Todd Eby knows what it takes. This self-described “anti-consultant” launched in 2016 to help small businesses get big results. Now, after nearly 25 years in the customer success space, Todd has plenty of practical, effective tips on how to build a loyal client base. Why you should focus on return customers When you work for yourself, you spend a lot of time thinking about how to get new customers through the door. But Todd reminds us getting existing clients to stick around is just as important as finding new ones—and not just because it’s more cost-effective. “Retention matters as much, if not more, than acquisition, so make sure it’s a focus.” “Don’t assume your business will be successful just because you’re acquiring new customers. If you can’t keep bringing them back, you’re more likely to fail.” When you’re solely focused on the acquisition, eventually you’ll reach market saturation, and bringing in new bus
Hi Everyone, Has anyone here ventured into garden design? Do you have any particular advice about doing it successfully? I'm based just north of London. I've been gardening pretty much for 40 years, and a professional gardener for 20 years. My strength is mainly in Planting Design. But the challenge is how to actually get clients for this. It isn't a cheap service. I recently joined Houzz for a 1 year contract, for an eye-watering £210 per month, with promises of being able to earn enough to justify that amount. There's a lot of marketing involved there. I have a website, and a sponsored listing in Yell.com. And I am with Rated People, and have a monthly rolling contract with The Directory Guys who promise to raise my website into the first 5 results locally on Google for garden design. My hand is in too many pies maybe? Well, Rated People seems good for "bread and butter" work. Yell.com shows good reviews for me. (I started to add a review section to my websit

I have been a small business owner in the past. It failed. I work for "the man" and love it, but want to take another chance at being my own boss. The question I have is: How do you find your inspiration to continue to be your own boss? Pop your tips and tricks in the comments below!
