Tasks in time card

When I pick a task from the time card input, is the next time I enter recorded against that task? Why doesn’t QBT refresh the time card for only times recorded against that task - it seems to display hours for ALL tasks??

Hence, can you provide us more details about your concern? Are you referring to picking a task when entering a Manual Time Card? Also, please attach a screenshot, if possible, for additional reference.

This information can really help us identify the most appropriate data we can discuss with you. Looking forward to hearing from you again. Take care!

This does relate to Manual Time Card. On looking again (screenshot attached), the task drop-down only appears when I select a customer that has tasks assigned to it, so I’m guessing that the time entered is recorded against the task chosen.

Thanks for getting back here in the Community space, @Mikeymike1234. We'll provide details about tasks in timecards inside QuickBooks Time (QBT).

You're right about the task drop-down appearing when you select a customer that has tasks assigned to it and that it's against the task and not the customers. If you've ticked the box for the Task field inside a specific customer, it'll show every time you add a timecard using that customer. However, if you wish to deactivate the task so it won't appear when adding a timecard, you can uncheck the option anytime. We'll write down the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Time company.
  2. Go to the Customers Section.
  3. Choose your preferred customer and edit them.
  4. Below the Custom Fields section, uncheck the box beside Tasks.
  5. Once done, click the Save button.

You can also upload a screenshot in JPEG format and have it attached to your response. You'll want to ensure it doesn't exceed the attachment's maximum file size of 9MB (Megabyte).Furthermore, here are some articles to help you manage timesheets inside the program:
