Access to QB data from a client - not using cloud accounting

I am an accountant and I have QB "Accountant" facility from which I can access client online data when clients have given me authorisation.

 

I also have a client using QB that doesn't use cloud accounting.  If they send me a data file backup is it possible for me to create a new client and restore the data.

You have to use QBO Accountant to access QBO account as accountant. And you have too use QB Desktop Premier Accountant to access your client's QB Desktop company file as accountant. As another option, you may utilize the trial license of QB Desktop to access the company file.
