Our financial year runs 1st September to 31st August, and when I run reports I regularly select "this financial year" or "last financial year" to get reports covering that time period. Today, I'm suddenly getting these financial year reports showing 6th April to 5th April, which is the UK tax year, and not our financial year. Checking settings (see attached image), I can see that the setting I entered for our "First month of financial year" is still correctly set to September. However, there appears to be a new setting of "First month of tax year", which is set to "06 April". It seems that the reports are now using the "tax year" field not the "financial year" field to set the dates for reports by financial year. It appears that someone has created a new setting, and completely failed to understand that an organisation's financial year does not have to be the same as the tax year. PLEASE FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY. We are a charity with differnt funding streams - is there a way to set up budgets for each different fund which will then feed into a main budget?
Can we run a report of invoice list with VAT inclusive or exclusive in a column, or how can we check quickly which invoice is VAT inclusive/exclusive without opening each invoice one by one.
Please can someone give me step by step instructions on how to record the purchase of a computer for business purposes in QBO? How do I create the asset account. How do I record the bank payment to the vendor. Does all the amount I pay get recorded as an expense becuase I want to depreciate the asset over 4 years. Thanks
It seems that the modern view has the fiscal dates as the default Financial Year dates. This is very frustrating as we have to change the date manually now and it leaves the possibility of running the wrong report if we forget the dates change. The classic view seems to have the correct setting but every time if we click on an item and click on back to report, it reverts to the modern view with the incorrect dates. This is unsatisfactory as we spend so much time now just selecting dates.I will be seeking alternative products for all my clients.
Hello I've attached the issue. It seems to get to the point in the modern reporting view where all the remaining classes just group into 'Other' and those figures that you can see in the 'Other' column can't even be clicked to open up any sort of transaction report. This isn't an issue in the classic view. In the classic view, it simply shows all the classes. Does anyone know how to fix this to show all the classes in modern view? Not an issue now but if classic view gets removed in the future then it will be. ThanksJack
I have noticed that when i go to submit my monthly CIS report that some of the sub-contractors totals are low (missing payments made) When I check suppliers account etc, its all there. Correct dates etc. I have tried logging in and out but not correcting itself. I had unsubmitted a file because of it.
Why does the modern view show the wrong dates when selecting 'Last Financial Year'?Our financial year runs from April to March and when we run it as a classic report it shows the correct dates. When we run the same report in Modern view it shows January to December. It's very odd.
We are having troubles raising the report. The system eventually times out. This is a problem that all staff trying to pull the report have problems with regardless of our location. We are having to pull different reports to get the data the this report provides and it proving time consuming.
The deposits are actually payments on account that have been later allocated against the invoices, so are distorting the summary figures. TIA
Is there a report that shows the last time a customer purchased from us, like a customer purchase history type report? Many thanksDebbie

All my Paypal transactions come in as "Paypal" without any information so I manually add a memo which is already a painful process.I then export the data to have a list for further analytics but it either does not show the memo (export in transaction menu) or it doesn't show the description (export from reports menu (transaction by date). I need both obviously. Can someone help?
Hi, Does anybody know of a report please that shows the outstanding (unpaid) amount of customer invoices net of Vat (sales tax). I can only find reports with amounts that include sales tax. Thanks.
I would have expected some basic project management functions, but there does not seem to be any. I'm frustrated by the lack of functionality and thinking of cancelling
The Transaction ID is an important field for Accountants especially in reports such as General Ledger and Journals. It is a hit and miss apparently determined based on: 1) QBO v QBOA set of Books, 2) Live set of Books vs Intuit's sample databases, 3) some reports may have it some may not have this field, 4) New layout vs Old layout in reports. This is very silly, frustrating and nightmarish when testing or coming up with canned reports for Auditors.I think Intuit have been chopping and changing around this and other things.
I need to tag some of our incoming bank deposits. What will happen to my information in mid-May when the tags disappear? There is a way of 'migrating' some tags but not the bank deposits. What am I supposed to do? Nobody asked for this. It's like the awful Core Payroll mess all over again. I'm wondering what will be phased out next?
