Quickbooks Modern Reports - Grouping classes and 'Other'

Hello

I've attached the issue. It seems to get to the point in the modern reporting view where all the remaining classes just group into 'Other' and those figures that you can see in the 'Other' column can't even be clicked to open up any sort of transaction report.

This isn't an issue in the classic view. In the classic view, it simply shows all the classes.

Does anyone know how to fix this to show all the classes in modern view? Not an issue now but if classic view gets removed in the future then it will be.

Thanks

Jack

I appreciate your keen observation of the modern view reporting, Jack. Let's take some troubleshooting steps to fix this unusual behavior.

In QuickBooks Online UK, the Other column represents transactions without a specific class assigned.

Your concern about the potential discontinuation of the classic view in the future is understandable. This functionality will not disappear, and please be assured that our product engineers are continuously working to enhance the modern reporting view.

Since you mentioned that everything looks fine in the classic view, but some of your classes are grouped into the Other column, let's take some troubleshooting steps to resolve this. An accumulation of historical data can sometimes cause unexpected behavior within the system.

Here are the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Return to your regular browser and pull up the report once again. Then, clear your cache to start afresh. If the issue persists, switch to another supported browser installed on your system.

If you've already done this process and the issue continues, I recommend contacting our live support team to examine this unusual behavior further. Our experts can arrange a screen-sharing session if necessary.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Hover over the Help icon, then choose the Search tab.
  2. Click Contact Us, and enter your concerns in the box provided.
  3. Choose the Callback option.

In the meantime, you can consider using the classic view when generating your reports to continue your tasks.

For future reference, you can customise the Profit and Loss by Class report and export it to share with your team members.

Following the troubleshooting steps and contacting our live support team will help ensure that this matter is thoroughly investigated and resolved.
