Allow me to provide additional insights about having the option to organise your projects based on the file that you attached.

 

As mentioned by my colleagues above, being able to add a start and end date fields to the projects and have them show on the list isn't available. 

 

However, QuickBooks Online integrates with various applications to help you run your business easier. You may check for a third-party application that supports this functionality so you'll be able to sort projects according to the information that you need.

 

I hear you and realize the convenience of having the ability to enter the start and ending date of your projects. Know that our developers are constantly gathering and considering new functions to be added to the system. This way, we'll be able to make the product work the way your business needs.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Community page. I'm here to help share information about projects.

 

As of now, adding these fields fields (Start Date, Expected completion date, and others) isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, I'll take note with this and pass along the suggestions here on my end. In this way, our product developers/engineers will take a look and work on with this.

This is something I would be interested in too - start and end dates, and also more options for status, preferably ones we can rename? That way we can track jobs that are parts ordered, awaiting booking in, out of hours required. Thanks.

Hello,

I have recently started QBO Plus but now knowing that the START DATE & END DATE is not available then I am not going to use it and will stop the subscription, straight away.

I wouldn't like to see you cancel your subscription.

 

Yes, there are no fields for the start date and end date of the project. Alternatively, we can use the Notes field to add them to the project. Let me walk you through the other way of adding the dates:

 

  1. Go to Project on the left panel.
  2. Click the New project at the upper-right corner if you haven't created yet. Otherwise, we'll only need to edit it by clicking Options under the Action column. Then, select Edit this project.
  3. Enter the start date and end date in the Notes field.
  4. Then, Save.
  5. We can then view the dates we've entered any time by opening the project. Once opened, click the View option above to see the dates.

However, if you've fully decided to cancel your subscription, the steps below will walk you through the process.
 

  1. Let's go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings under Your Company.
  3. Click the Billing and subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel your trial or Cancel online.
  5. Then, let us follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
