Hello Community Users! Just adding to this thread. If there is a rejected return there is not an option in Quickbooks Online to delete it. You can however unfile the return (here is a link on how to do that) and then mark it as filed again manually. But it will still show the return as unfiled (rejected) return for auditing purposes. We hope that this clarifies things.

Hi lisajc34-hotmail, thanks for joining the Community - are you looking to submit the rejected return to HMRC through QuickBooks, and do you need to make any amendments to this? 🧐

No, I have since amended and submitted it through the HMRC online service so just looking to tidy up QuickBooks records!

Congratulations on successfully submitting your CIS, @lisajc34-hotmail. I’ll be here to help share information about handling your CIS returns so you can clean up your QuickBooks records.

I recognize the importance of being able to remove it smoothly. Thus, it can help save time and clean your records.

Currently, deleting your CIS returns rejected in QuickBooks is unavailable. We can only resubmit it or make adjustments to it. We also keep the accounts and reports, so your records are straight.

To learn what to do if your return is rejected, you can view this article. It also includes the steps to unfile and record payments made to HMRC.

For reference, you might consider viewing this article to prepare and file 1099s. It includes steps and FAQs that'll guide you along the process.

Please know that I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about CIS returns with QuickBooks. I'll be happy to help you further. Have a great day ahead.
