Thank you for turning to the Community about your concern, charles9.

We recognize how essential it is for you to merge your accounts. This helps to keep your records organized and easy to track.

The equity account can be converted to a current asset account and then merged into the latter category. You can perform this process as long as they have the same Account and Detail Types.

If the stated accounts contain reconciliation reports, make sure to save them because the reconciliation history may be lost.

Next, head to the Chart of accounts page and change the account you're working on. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙ and choose Chart of accounts.
  2. Look for the account you wish to keep and select Edit from the drop-down menu in the Action column.
  3. Take note of the Account TypeName, and Detail Type. same.
  4. Check if the Is sub-account option is marked. If it is, note the parent account it's linked to.

Once done, let's consolidate the accounts. Here's how:

  1. Head back to the Chart of Accounts and find the current asset account (the one you won't keep)
  2. In the Action column, tap the drop-down button and choose Edit.
  3.  Change the Name and Detail Type so the duplicate account's information matches the one you want to keep. If you need to mark Is sub-account, keep in mind:

  • If you're merging two parent accounts, make sure they don’t have any sub-accounts.
  • If you're merging two sub-accounts, ensure they have the same parent account.
  • If only one is a sub-account, uncheck the Is sub-account option so it becomes a parent account.

When you're all set, click Save and Yes to confirm the action.
