Thanks for responding back to me, Sean.
I just want to clarify something about your concern. Is your bank account no longer showing in your chart of accounts? Or you’re unable to add a new bank account because you don’t have Bank as an account type option?
While waiting for your response, you might want to run QuickBooks on a private window (In case you haven’t done it yet). Here’s how:
- For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
- For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
- For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.
If it works fine on a private brewers, it would be best to clear your browser’s cache or switch to a different one. The web browser keeps files in its cache and saves the pages you have previously visited, and sometimes the stored files can affect communication between the browser and QuickBooks Online.
I'd be happy to know more about this and get you back on track.
Hello Community users, we just thought we'd jump onto this thread and clarify the process for adding a bank account chart of account. If you go to accounting>chart of accounts>new>under account type select cash at bank and in hand(this is the correct one to use)>under detail type select either current or savings>add the name of the account>then you can select the currency>then you can add an opening balance for the account. Then save the changes.
If you want to set up a petty cash account you can select account type cash at bank and in hand and then detail type cash on hand.
We hope this makes things more clear, any questions please just ask.
