How can I run a simple balance report that splits into categories and shows each transaction within the category?

You can run the Transaction Detail by Account report to view the categories of your transactions. This report shows all types of transactions you've made to a specific account. To run this report, here's how: 

 

  1. Go to Reports and in the Find report by name field, search for "report name". Then, select the report.
  2. Select the Report period dropdown. Select the correct date range.
  3. Under the Rows/columns section, select in the dropdown arrow how you want it to be Group by
  4. Hit Run report.
