Hello Community Users, We just wanted to add a quick note that the code for domestic reverse charge  CIS is available to use in Quickbooks. More details on that can be found by clicking on domestic reverse charge for CIS in the jump to section at the top of the following article

When you turn on the VAT in QuickBooks Online, the program automatically creates the common codes, 9826. That includes the reverse charge.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and then select the VAT tab.
  2. Click on Set up VAT and then fill in the necessary fields.
  3. Then, choose the Edit VAT drop-down arrow, then select Edit rates.
  4. Click the radio button to turn the code on.

If you're unable to see the reverse charge, I suggest including the inactive ones. You can do this by clicking on the Gear icon and then place a checkmark in the Include inactive checkbox.

For more information about VAT codes, I suggest browsing this article: Set up and Edit VAT Settings, VAT Codes, and VAT Rates.

Additionally, from April 2019, all eligible UK VAT-registered businesses will have to keep their financial records in a digital form and submit their VAT returns using approved software. To learn more details, I encourage you to browse this article: Submit a VAT Return in QuickBooks Online.

How do I get a code for sales invoices? The new code RC SG is only for purchases...

Hi tk1970,

We'll be implementing a new VAT code in the near future to accommodate the reverse charge relating to CIS and we'll be updating all customers via email once this is released.

Thanks
