Hello, info1736.

I'll jump in and help you find out what's preventing the discounts from being deducted properly on the reports and fix it.

What specific sales report did you pull up? Also, how did you apply the discount on your invoices? I'd appreciate if you could provide more details about the issue. I'll be able to pinpoint the reason why and how we can resolve the discount issue in your invoices.

In the meantime, let's do the following solutions to help you see the deducted amount for your invoice discounts.

Several factors that can affect the invoice balances might overlapped the discounted amount. You'll want to review the invoice and check the calculations for the VAT, discount, and your line items.

To review your invoice and discounts properly, make sure you're pulling up one of the Sales By preset reports to see the discount and the available balance after applying it. Simply go to the Reports menu, then select one of the following presets:

  • Sales by Customer Detail
  • Sales by Customer Summary
  • Sales by Product/Service Detail
  • Sales by Product/Service Summary

Also, you'll want to ensure that you're entering a negative amount if you're using a service or non-stock item for your discounts. This can also be the reason why you're not seeing any deductions from your invoices.

After fixing the discount issue, do you need help categorising your bank transactions and match them with your records in QuickBooks? This article will guide you through the steps: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you have other questions while managing your invoices and discounts, please let me know the details. I can also help you out with any other tasks in QuickBooks. I'll see you soon.
