I need to send a list of opening balances to my accountant. Which is the best report to show these

Hello Lorraine10, you can run a trial balance report that would be the best report.

Ok great, that is what I've done, but do I custom the date to be to and from the first day of the new financial year? And why when I run the report at the year end it shows the P&L lines but at the openeing of the new financial year, it doesn't?

Hi lorraine10,

 

The trial balance will run by default from the month selected as the first of the tax year within the settings - you can check and change this by going to the Cog > Account & settings > Advanced > Accounting > Edit 'First month of financial year' > Save.
