My Chart of Accounts report does not show the balance values in pages 2 and 3 of a 3 page report.

In the Chart of Accounts section, both the screen displays and the print report fail to show the balance values for the last 2 pages of a 3 page report. I have asked QuickBooks about this and they are not able to help.

Hello there, @rutter-primeman-. I've got here steps to ensure you can view the balances in your Chart of Accounts (COA).

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), certain accounts will not have a balance in the COA such as Profit and Loss accounts. For more details about this, you can check this article: Chart of Accounts doesn't show income and expense totals. To narrow down the problem, let's see if those accounts with no balance are one of these.

Then, let's export the report to excel to determine if it shows the same. If the balance values show on the excel, let's now configure the margins on your printer set up. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account and click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Chart of Accounts.
  3. From there, select the Printer icon.
  4. Then, click the More settings drop-down.
  5. Make necessary changes.
  6. Once done, click Save.

To get more information on what details your COA shows, you can visit this article: Learn about the chart of accounts in QuickBooks. It also contains steps on how you can edit, hide or delete an account.

In case you need to break down your expenses or income into greater detail, you can divide the main account into subaccounts. This will help you arrange your data and create a more specific report.

Post again here if you have additional concerns about viewing balances in your COA. I'd be happy to assist you further. Have a great day ahead.
