Question

My income is in AU$ and expenditure in GBP can my financial reports reflect this. Currently they will only show my home currency AU$

The amounts are therefore inaccurate as it does not convert the GBP to Au$ so it looks like there is much more money unspent

Hi there, maylin-wyndham.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be providing details about the Multi-currency in QuickBooks Online. Then, ensure you'll be able to achieve your goal by performing an alternative way.

Reports in QuickBooks Online will always reflect the home currency regardless of the currency used in transactions. However, you can customize the report to show the converted amount like from GBP to Au$, or vice versa. Beforehand, please make sure to assign the customer a foreign currency. This way, the converted income or invoice will automatically reflect on your report.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Customers under the Sales section.
  2. From the Customers page, select the New Customer button.
  3. Choose the specific currency in the Currency drop-down list.
  4. Click OK.

Once done, I recommend ensuring the income amount in the invoice is appear as converted. I attached a screenshot below for visual reference.

Once done, you can run the Profit and Loss Detail report and customize it to show the Currency, Exchange amount, Foreign Amount.
