Report formatting - VAT Detail

I'm trying to print out a VAT detail report, but the report comes out sized for a 15" x 11" page. Is there any way to fix this inside Quickbooks, rather than exporting to Excel to print it?

Ideally I'd also like to be able to resize columns before printing (which isn't too much to ask), but I don't seem to be able to do that either.

Emma,

I may have been designed that way, but the design process evolves. I'd like to think that producing readable output  on A4 or Letter paper would be a reasonable thing to have as a design requirement. Please can you add this to the list of feature requests/bug fixes?

Thank you for getting back to us, Nelly111S.

We appreciate your feedback. Let me provide you steps on how you can send a feedback.

Send it within your QuickBooks Online company file:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

I'll take note of this feaature request and pass along to our Product team.

As a workaround you can export your VAT detail  report to excel, from there you can resize the column before printing it.

Please feel free to get back to us if there's anything else we can do to help.

Hello, Nelly111S.

We understand how important it is to get the right size when printing your VAT report.

The only way you can adjust the size of the print out is through your printer settings.

To learn more about troubleshooting printing issues, refer to Fix QuickBooks Online printing issues on browsers for Windows article.

I also have a link here where you can find articles about managing your financial reports in QBO: Setting up reports to customise, run, and share.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help. Have a good day!

All the printer settings will do is to make the whole page smaller. What I want to do is resize individual columns to make the fit on the page better for the content of each column. You can resize the column, but only make it bigger, not smaller. This must be a bug?

Surely I'm not the only person who has difficulty with this, either?

Oh, and I'm on a Mac, not Windoze. Although for this, it doesn't make a difference.

Hello Nelly, You can not reduce the size of the columns however you can in the reports on the right click the cog, and under Display density tick compact and untick any columns not needed to reduce size.
