Sort Order of Entries Issues

I have noticed even while testing, that the sort order of transactions is not in correct sequence appearing on reports. This is very annoying. E.g. if the correct order on a date is Invoice>Payment>Credit Note…QBO will randomly / indiscriminately stack up the entries without due regard to the order or sequence in which the transactions/entries took place on a particular date. It will do this in a number of other areas such as Customer area..

How can we fix this?

Hello there, HAM9.

The details being displayed depends on the report you're pulling up. I'd like to verify what customer or sales report you're currently running so I can walk you through from there.

You might want to pull the Transaction List by Date to sort sales transactions by the sequence these entries were created. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Enter and select the in search field Transaction List by Date.
  3. Select the Report period and click Run report.

For more details on how to customize your report, you can check out these articles:

If you get the same thing, we can perform a few browser troubleshooting steps to refresh the system. There are times that a browser stores files that can cause unexpected behavior within QuickBooks.

You can access QuickBooks Online through a private browser and run the report you're trying to view. If everything looks as expected and transactions are arranged accordingly, you can switch back to the main browser and clear the cache. If you get the same thing, you can use other browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox.

I'm just here if you need more help. You take care and have a great day!
