Where to record staff wages

I recorded my staff wages under 'wages and salaries control' and they are not showing in my expenses or my profit & loss report. How do I rectify this? Many thanks.

Hello Leah!

 

Your wages will not show up on the reports you mentioned if its transaction date is not within the report dates. Or, your wages and control account is not an expense type.

 

Try setting up a wider report period (date range). If you still can't see them, check the account type of the wages and control account to see if it's an expense or not.

How did you record your wages? It is via Journal Entry or via payroll? Thanks in advance.
