Why am I getting this message when trying to file my VAT report (happened last month as well) indirect tax-19702

Filing date should be a valid date and lie between end date and today’s date (code: “INDIRECTTAX-19702”

I've got some steps we can perform to fix the error message when filing the VAT report in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

 

Issues like this can occur when your browser stores too much historical data. You can get rid of them in a few steps. Let's start by signing in to your QuickBooks Online account in a private/incognito window.

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Once in, try to file a VAT report.  If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

I recommend contacting our support team to assist you further with the error encountered while filing your VAT. Our phone support can view your account if a bug keeps interfering with the QuickBooks performance.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Going to Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, for example: then select Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat, Get a callback, and Ask the Community.

This happened for me when the browser was using the timezone of the country I was in, putting me 1 day ahead of the UK..so when you submit the return, the end date is before the current date. Have to wait for both country your submitting from, and the UK to be the same day
