Worst move ever moving to online - my accounts are now out by thousands of pounds

I moved over to QB Online (not accountant version) about 6 months ago - I lost my reconciliation when the transfer was done, I'm over £85,000 out in my reconciliation, I can't undo reconciliations like I could in desktop, I can't manually reconcile in my chart of accounts

I spent over an hour on phone to QB where they took control of my site and couldn't help, my accountant doesn't know what to do - I'm really at rock bottom now

Has anyone moved back to desktop - these are charity accounts and we will lose so much money in subscription payments but I am in tears daily

I've never made such a stupid decision in my life - moving online was the worst ever - and I want to move back but how can I move the data back to desktop as I can't reinput years of data

Any advice woudl be appreciated

Hi there, @Sue Wroe. I'm here to make sure your account matches your bank statement.

I'd suggest inviting your accountant to sign up for QuickBooks Online (QBO) Accountant for free. This version have a special reconciliation tool that allows your accountant to undo the entire reconciliation and get a fresh start.

Here's how to invite your accountant:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner, and select Manage Users.
  2. Go to the Accounting firms tab, and click the Invite button.
  3. Enter the accountant's information.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Let your accountant undo the entire reconciliation.

To learn more about the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks, you can refer to the articles below. It contains complete information to keep your accounts accurate:

Please come back if you need more help with the reconciliation process. I'll be around to help you out again. Stay safe.

@Sue Wroe

Intuit will stop supporting the QBD UK version next year. Unless you are using the one time license for QBD UK version, you will still need to migrate data to QBO UK version or another accounting app. Consider purchasing a 3rd party service to run the conversion again from your QB Desktop file to QB Online to fix the issue.
