2022 1099-NEC

I am trying to print my 1099-NEC for 2022. The 1099 preview shows the correct 2022 amount (2021 amount was different), but the preview shows the year as 2021. Is anyone else having this issue?

I can help you with preparing and printing your 1099s, @AmySlank.

Make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release to have the latest features and product improvements.

There may be some minor data issues with your company file that's why you're having problems generating your 1099s. Try running the Rebuild and Verify Utility tool to fix possible data damage on your company file.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open your company file again.
  2. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities and choose Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK in the QuickBooks Information window.
  4. Wait until the repair is done. Then, click OK.
  5. Then, go back to the File menu and select Utilities and choose Verify Data.
  6. Click OK if QuickBooks doesn't find any problems. Or Rebuild Now if it finds issues with your company file.

If you still get the same issue, let's try running the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix common issues.

  1. Open your QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Select Company File Issues.
  3. Click Quick Fix my File.
  4. Choose OK when it completes and launch your QuickBooks.

I'm adding this article for more troubleshooting steps if the error persists after trying the resolution I provided above: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Here's how to prepare your 1099s seamlessly and print them: Print your 1099 and 1096 forms. if you need to add a contractor or change an amount when you create your 1099s, refer to this article for more information: Fix missing contractors or wrong amounts on 1099s

I'm always here if you need further help with your 1099s. Just let me know by leaving a reply below. Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hi there, @AmySlank.

I'm thrilled to hear that my colleague @MJoy_D was able to answer your query about preparing and printing a payroll form specifically your 1099-NEC for 2022.

If you require any additional assistance with preparing and printing any payroll forms, you can always post them here in the Community. Have a wonderful day!

YES, I AM AND WHEN I CHANGE IT TO THE 2022 IT GIVES ME AN ERROR MESSAGE AND BOOTS ME OUT.  WE MAY HAVE TO WAIT TILL IT IS ACTUALLY 2023 TO DO THEM.  THIS IS RIDUCULOUS AND THEY NEED TO BE MOVED TO THE RIGHT.  WHERE IS THE ADJUSTMENT THAT USED TO BE ON QB FOR MOVING THE WRITING OVER TO FIT THE 1099 ON A INKJET PRINTER.  NO ONE USES THE OLD PRINTERS.

I have tried all of the steps, verified that QB Desktop is on current version, and still cannot get dates for 1099s to advance to 2022.
