Hello there, Roger.

I'll share details about producing official paystubs for contractors in QuickBooks Online.

At present, QuickBooks doesn't offer the feature to generate pay stubs for contractors since this functionality only applies to employees. However, you can still open an existing check or create a new one, then print it to keep a record of the payment made.

Here's how you can write a check:

  1. Click Payroll, then select the Contractors tab.
  2. Choose the dropdown next to the contractor's name, then click Write check.
  3. Select the expense account you use to track paychecks and enter the amount.
  4. When you're ready to prepare the check, hit Save and Close to send the check to your print queue. Or if you want to print the check now, select Print Check.

On the other hand, if you invite your contractor and pay them through direct deposit, they will have the ability to easily access and view their payments via their free QuickBooks Self-Employed account.

Additionally, if they require a more detailed breakdown of their payments, you can explore various third-party applications that assist in generating pay stubs for your contractors.

Furthermore, you can run a Contractor Payments report to help you track all the payments you've made to your contractors.

I will be available to help further with managing your contractor's payments. Feel free to leave your queries or requests in the comments section below. Have a wonderful day!
