I'm attempting to enter a journal entry with Spreadsheet Sync but I received an error "Account cannot be left empty" for 149 rows of 400+ rows.  The account is not empty, I have tried to delete and re-enter but still receive the error.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the error encountered when trying to save journal entries within QuickBooks Online (QBO) using our Spreadsheet Sync feature, BST3.

We understand the inconvenience caused by such errors and would like to provide you with guidance on resolving this issue. With this, we recommend recreating the Journal Entry (JE) data in the new sheet, as their could be data or information was accidentally entered in the wrong field in the Excel sheet, which caused QuickBooks to assume that it's a JE without an account.

Additionally, when using a transaction template to post data to QuickBooks Online, such as Invoices and Bills or Purchase & Sales Receipt, errors may occur if the data does not match validated criteria. Criteria are validated if they have been manually added to QuickBooks Online or uploaded using a Spreadsheet Sync list template such as Accounts or Inv Items.

If data is incorrectly entered into a transaction or posting template, Spreadsheet Sync will return an error message. With that, make sure you are using a Spreadsheet Sync posting template. You can find them under Manage Records > Records to create or edit

Furthermore, make sure that the data matches, dates are formatted correctly, any numeric entries only include one decimal point, always copy and paste entries as values, enter a value for each data cell, add new rows to the bottom of a template and not the top, add columns to the right of a spreadsheet and not the left, and do not delete or move any columns marked with a star.

If the problem persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Online Support. They have the necessary tools, like screen-sharing to get you back up and running and help you get a fix of the issue you're experiencing.
