Thanks for posting here in the Community, @SharEA1.

I see that adding a watermark "DRAFT" to your financial statements before finalizing it. Allow me to share information about this.

At the moment, there's no option to add a watermark in the financial statement reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). We can only create a template for Sales forms.

As a workaround, we can export the financial report to Excel. Once done you can add the watermark "DRAFT" there. Here's how to export:

  1. On the upper panel, select Reports.
  2. Choose Company & Financial.
  3. Pick what kind of financial statement report you want to view.
  4. After that, review the report if it shows the correct details.
  5. There are options above the report page. Click the Excel dropdown.
  6. Select Create New Worksheet.
  7. Click Export.

If you want to add or delete columns and information in your reports, you can read this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

It's good to have you here, @SharEA1. If you have additional questions about generating your financial statements in QBDT, don't hesitate to come back to this thread. I'll be willing to help you. Keep safe and have a good one.

Thank you for the suggestions.  I saved the report as a pdf and was able to add a watermark with the use of Adobe Acrobat software.

@SharEA1

Although Quickbooks can't add a noticeable -DRAFT-, what you can do is customize the header/footer section to have it as part of the name:

While there isn't a way to add a watermark, an option may be creating a customized report and having "Draft" in the name. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Locate and select the report you want to customize.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. Choose the Header/Footer section and edit the name to include Draft.
  5. After you customize a report, select Save customization.
  6. Give your report a name.
  7. Select Save.

Let us know if this makes a difference.
