Adjusting dated assembly builds

We currently have issues with dated assembly builds throwing off our inventory. We currently have a "glitch" in our system that causes a discrepancy between inventory showing on transfers/adjustments and our inventory reports. It is possible to adjust the old builds to correct this issue however we are hesitant to update a build that is multiple years old. Would it be best to deactivate the affected part numbers and start over or is updating the dated builds an option?

The best route would be to do new properly dated assemblies, rather than try to manually change the date on each portion.
