Alert - Your historic data will be corrupted if you change a custom field drop-down list

I've discovered a horrible data integrity flaw in QBO that all users should be aware of. Your historic data will be corrupted if you change a custom field drop-down list.

Unbelievably, revisions to a custom field drop-down list will reach backward and upward into your historic invoices and customer records and MODIFY them. I've never encountered a bug with this potential to corrupt your data.

Be aware. Never modify a custom field drop-down list.

QBO support community - I am not looking for assistance with this. I am warning the broader community of users.

You deserved to be heard, @ldr514.

From time to time, QuickBooks updates its features.

No worries, I'll take note of your feedback and relay it to the concerned team so we can enhance your overall QuickBooks experience.

Here's how:

  1. Log in with your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. On the Gear icon, click Feedback.
  3. Enter your product comments and suggestions, then select Next to submit.

Additionally, here's an article that you can browse through if you want to enhance custom fields in QuickBooks Online (QBO): Create and edit custom fields in QBO.

If you still have further queries managing your data or anything else about QuickBooks, feel free to reach out. We'd be glad to assist you 24/7. Stay safe.

@Sherrie_F  How I wish I could make your support experience better.

A god start would be reading what the OP posted in full. They explicitly stated that they were not looking for help.

Also, you said both: 'No worries, I'll take note of your feedback and relay it to the concerned team so we can enhance your overall QuickBooks experience.' and 'With this, I'd suggest sending feedback to our product development team to check for this issue.'

Well, which is it? Are you going to send this information to the correct team, or do you expect the OP to do it themselves?
