All our income defaults to one Accounts Receivable (A/R) account in every report in our QB Online, even though we enter the pledge towards a different Accounts Receivable account.

Detail:

For our non-profit, we have created in the Chart of Accounts 3 types of pledges: Pledges Receivable - Gala, Pledges Receivable - Restricted, and Pledges Receivable, Unrestricted. All were created as Account Type “Accounts Receivable (A/R).

When we create a pledge received in QB online for Pledges Receivable - Restricted,  we select “Pledge Restricted” as the Product/Service. We select a class per what the donor is giving to.

When setting up that “Pledge Restricted” as a Product/SErvice, the associated Income Account is set up as “Contributions - Income” income account.

However, all pledges that we enter are included in the “Pledges Receivable - Gala” account on our STatement of Financial position and all other reports on QB.
