Hello there, sally71. I know some ways where you can see the unpaid bill within the balance sheet.

For you to see the transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll need to customize your report first. Afterward, you can choose Vendors in the Display columns by so that you can see which account your unpaid bill belongs to. You can also click the amount that aligns with the said account such as the total amount of accounts payable.

In addition, ensure that the Accounting method is in Accrual so that you'll be able to see the unpaid bills.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports column located in the left navigation panel.
  2. In the search bar, enter the Balance Sheet
  3. In the Report period dropdown, you can choose All Dates or choose according to your preference.
  4. Click the Display column by dropdown and choose Vendors or according to your likes.
  5. Under the Accounting method, tick the Accrual radio button.
  6. Press Run report

For further details about customizing your report and how to automate a custom report, you can use this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online

Furthermore, you can also export your reports to Excel in case you want to use it outside QBO.
