Anyone else trying to use the "new and improved" bill pay on QBO? Full of bugs and glitches and costs way more than Melio. A big disappointment

I have been thrown out of QBO now 5 times.  There used to be a way to annotate right in the transaction.  This new way sure feels like a very expensive step backwards.  Please bring back Melio!

I know how difficult it is to perform your task using a new program feature, @DixonRock. I'll share some details about this.

The Bill Pay powered by Melio integration was discontinued last May 20, 2024. Businesses that use this service will be able to apply for one of three QuickBooks Bill Pay plans.

To help fix the glitches and bugs you encounter while using QuickBooks Bill Pay, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Let's start with accessing your account via incognito mode. This does not store cache that might cause odd behaviors when accessing web-based programs. Below are the shortcut keys you can use depending on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

Once signed in, perform your task again using QuickBooks Bill Pay and check if you can do it without issue. If this works, I recommend going back to your regular browser and clearing the cache to eliminate piled-up data that might cause the issue. If the same thing happens, you can use other supported devices or browsers

For more information, check out this article: Switch from Bill Pay powered by Melio to QuickBooks Bill Pay.

Additionally, I recommend sending feedback to our product developer to share your insights and comments about the discontinuation. Here's how:

  1. Choose Feedback by selecting the Gear icon located at the top right of the screen.
  2. Next, enter a brief description of your comments.
  3. Then, click Next to submit it.

I'm just around the corner to provide help if you have other concerns managing your bills in QuickBooks. Just drop a comment below. Have a good one.

@DixonRock

You can sign up for a free Melio account to integrate with QBO as a workaround.

You can also get a $100 cashback to pay the first bill.

It’s a complete disaster. It’s a gigantic failure. Time to find an alternative to QuickBooks.

Totally agree - we went back to Melio on their independent app - works great - no charge - synchs with QBO - perfect!!

I switched back to Melio as well. The QBO bill pay is an absolute nightmare. This nonsense about clearing your cache or a different browser is laughable. I used two different computers with two different browsers and the thing on QBO still won’t work. The uniformed people at QBO technical support want me to delete and reconnect the bank account that has been working for weeks.

SO many of my clients dont receive checks, then we have to cancel it wait 7-10 days to get funds back and then rewrite a check.  This is a complete waste of money.  Then its limited on how many checks you can write, so we increased to the bigger account and it still doesnt work half the time.  So disappointing.
